Your data, your call
These buttons act on the guest who plays in this browser. On another phone or computer, open this page there too.
Who we are
Pocket Pier (pocketpier.com) is run by Media Yard LLC. Write to hello@pocketpier.com with any question about your data.
On your device
The site keeps a few things in your browser's storage (not cookies) so the games work:
- a guest ID and a secret key that lets your browser save your progress to our server;
- your progress in each game, so it loads instantly and works offline;
- whether the sound is on;
- a copy of the site itself, so it opens without a connection.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it from your device.
On our server
- Your guest: its ID, a one-way scramble (hash) of its key, when it started and roughly when it last played. No name, email address or password.
- Your saves: your progress in each game, such as best scores and which level is next.
- What happens in play: which game, what happened (a round started or ended, a level was finished, a result was shared), with numbers like the score and how long it took, and when.
We use this to keep your progress safe across visits and devices, and to see which games people enjoy and where they get stuck so we can make them better. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't build profiles of people. For players in the UK and EU, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the games.
Play records are deleted after 400 days. A guest that hasn't played for two years is deleted, with its saves.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) hosts the site and its database. Like any web host it sees your network address to deliver the pages; we don't store it.
- Google Fonts (Google LLC, United States) serves the site's typefaces, so your browser asks Google for them and Google sees your network address.
When you press Share, your phone's share sheet or clipboard handles it; we don't see who you send it to. A Topple replay link carries only the level and where your spare dominoes went.
Children
Pocket Pier isn't aimed at children under 13 and doesn't ask anyone's age or identity. If you think a child's progress is stored here, use Delete my data in their browser, or write to us.
